Is it possible to copy navionics
I then got Norway on an SD card. I put it in a CF adaptor and it doesn't work. Turns out I need the special Raymarine adaptor. I sail to Norway tomorrow so no time to get a special adaptor sent in. If I backup the files in my UK Navionics CF card and copy the Norway ones onto it from the SD card, will it work or is there some special jiggers pokers that prevents that?

Navionics charts are copyright protected and the physical chart files cannot be saved to any other media cartridge as a back up because they will not work in your chart plotter. All Navionics charts will only perform on their original serialized Navionics media cartridge. A back up of the entire cartridge can be done in case the chart files themselves are lost or corrupted.
Moving between formats is not encouraged by their pricing structure - basically it's the cost of a major upgrade. My guess is you might be best looking for a cheap card on fleabay and sell yours the same way. Fair enough, unless anyone has an old navionics gold or similar for the South West at least on a SD card?.. I dont worry if its a couple years out of date, I dont think the water has risen that much or the land changed shape?! BB code is On.
